Ukraine, like Norway, is a participant in the Bologna Process and joined it in 2005. However, as we can see, it’s challenging to say that these countries have an equal level of education, and a Ukrainian diploma is valued no less than a Norwegian one. Today, let’s take a look at the methods of raising children in kindergartens in Ukraine and Norway because preschool education is the foundation that is laid in a child for their future development.
In 2021, Norway ranked 8th in the United Nations’ list of the happiest countries globally and has consistently been in the top ten for several years. Therefore, it’s not surprising that this Scandinavian country attracts many foreigners with its economy, standard of living, and democratic system. Obtaining higher education in Norwegian universities is particularly convenient because education is free, and admission conditions are favorable.
Undoubtedly, after kindergarten, parents send their children to obtain secondary education in school without hesitation, as in many countries, including the European countries of Norway and Ukraine, secondary education is mandated by law. Therefore, secondary general education school is the primary social institution that implements and makes a significant contribution to the intellectual development and self-awareness of the nation, ensuring its physical and spiritual well-being. So, what common and distinct factors are observed in the education systems of these two countries?
According to the standards of preschool education, a kindergarten aims to meet the needs of every child in terms of care, safety, and respect. Moreover, it provides an opportunity for a child to grow in a social environment, helping to develop skills such as socialization, communication, cultural integration, and language.

Порівнюючи використання в Україні та у країні-агресора, то можемо зробити висновок, що ми користуємося переважно однаковими. І це частково є проблемою.
З кожним роком кількість нових медіа збільшується, а разом із тим більшою стає й кількість інформації, що потрібно перевіряти і спростовувати у випадку не підтвердження верифікації достовірності фактів.
Майже будь-який якісний журналістський матеріал має містити посилання на людину/організацію, що повідомляє суспільно важливу інформацію.
Матеріалам із прихованими експертами не варто довіряти, а якщо вже й цікаво – перевіряємо, зокрема піддаємо під наш аналіз й перевірку компетентність осіб, думка яких надається.

The course objectives include mastering the theoretical and practical techniques necessary for correct breathing, voice production, articulation, diction, and pronunciation.
One of the most crucial aspects of the cultural identity of the Ukrainian people is the state language. The attitude of citizens towards the language and its significance has been particularly influenced by Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine (since 2014). To find out how the younger generation has changed its perception of the Ukrainian language and its role in the country’s life, we conducted a survey among students of the Volodymyr Dahl Eastern Ukrainian National University.

Мій навчальний процес вже два роки проходить дистанційно, адже через війну довелось переїхати в Чехію. Існує стереотип, що на дистанційному навчанні студенти не отримують достатньо знань та втрачають мотивацію взагалі щось робити. На своєму досвіді, я можу сказати, що все залежить не від форми освітнього процесу, а від бажання самого учня. А як проходить студентське життя чеських студентів? Про це я запитала у Діани Козлової. В Чехії розважаються на різних позауніверситетських заходах. Також це можуть бути перегляди фільмів в аудиторіях. А особливо вони люблять ходити на пиво після пар – це можна назвати головною традицією чехів.

These questions were discussed at the lecture by Dr. Andrew Giarelli, a professor at the Anglo-American University in Prague, which marked the beginning of the partnership certificate course “True Reporting: Even When It Hurts” from Volodymyr Dahl National University and the Student Journalism Platform NGO.

Media and democracy, how do they coexist and depend on each other? Leif Lonsmann acquainted students with the role of a free press in democratic countries, emphasizing that the media should deliver truth to society and shape public opinion. They also discussed how the free media manifests itself as the fourth estate in a country.
Matthias Vedeler, an advisor to the Norwegian Press Council, which serves as a public regulator in conflicts regarding the violation of rights and adherence to journalistic standards, told students about the specifics of applying the Journalist’s Ethical Code in Norway.
On April 18, a lecture on “Ukraine, Russian propaganda, and Norwegian media” took place. This time the speaker was Bjоrn Johan Berger, a Norwegian blogger, a member of the Board of the Norwegian-Ukrainian Friendship Society, and a freelance author for several Norwegian newspapers and magazines. Bjоrn introduced students to the mood in Norway, characterizing it as “deep historical calm” and “naivety.” At the same time, he noted that the younger generation of Norwegians demonstrates a high level of media literacy.
The guest lecturer for the final meeting was Austin Malloy, an American journalist, multimedia editor, and video journalist for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Austin has extensive experience working in post-Soviet countries, including stints at the Kyiv Post and Voice of America. He shared his perspectives on the journalism profession in modern times and talked about his own professional journey. Responding to students’ questions, the guest emphasized that despite the rapid pace of information technology development, the fundamental skill for journalists remains creating texts.

Today I had the opportunity to talk to one of Ukraine’s young ambitious people, Sofiia Yevchenko. Despite her young age, she has already completed internships in various institutions and organisations, is actively involved in the development of the European Youth Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative in Ukraine, is a member of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy “United Youth”, the Women’s League and the Coordination Platform of Ukrainians Abroad, and has completed internships at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Sofiia is currently interning at the IFES Ukraine office.
