General Assembly of the NGO “Student Journalism Platform” 2025: Key Decisions and Priorities

On June 7, 2025, the General Assembly of the NGO “Student Journalism Platform” was held. During the meeting, members of the organization approved reports on activities carried out from Q4 2023 to Q1 2025, discussed accomplishments, and outlined future directions for the coming years.

During the session, participants addressed a number of important issues and made key decisions.

They heard and approved the report of the Head of the Organization for the period from Q4 2023 to Q1 2025.
The report included details on the implementation of grant projects, in particular: “Ukrainian Youth Changes the World”, “War Diary: Stories of Ukrainian Resistance”.

Special attention was given to the volunteer activities of the organization’s members. Among the initiatives implemented:

  • Courses: “Oral Communication Techniques”, “Truthful Reporting Even When It Hurts”, “The Norwegian Model of Freedom of Speech for Ukrainian Student Journalists”.
  • Projects: “Media in Digital”, “Debunking and Fact-Checking”.
  • Internship opportunities were provided for students from: Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University.

The annual financial report for 2024 was also approved.

Members of the organization were introduced to a new project titled “Faces of Resilience: Living with the Consequences of War”, and discussed its concept and budget.

A separate part of the assembly was devoted to defining the organization’s priority areas for 2025–2026. Key directions include:

  • Continuing and developing work in the areas of: Stories of War, Fact-Checking, Inclusivity.
  • Educational and awareness-raising activities (courses, internships, student exchanges).

Particular attention was given to exploring opportunities for securing funding for both project-based and organizational activities. Members shared their ideas and decided to further study the potential introduction of membership fees, including conducting research among various Ukrainian and international organizations.

At the conclusion of the session, other issues related to the organization’s development and current challenges were also discussed.

The General Assembly was constructive, and members expressed their readiness to actively contribute to implementing the adopted decisions and working towards achieving the identified goals.
