According to the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the films “House Behind the Glass,” directed by Taras Dron (international competition), “Godless” by director Denys Tarasov (competition for first and second films), and “Iron Butterflies,” directed by Roman Liubyi (documentary film competition), were created with state support.
On October 12th and 13th, during the festival with the participation of film crews, the world premieres of “House Behind the Glass” and “Godless” took place. After the screenings, the audience had the opportunity to interact with the directors, actors, and producers of the films.
Denis Tarasov’s debut film “Godless” received a special mention in the competition program for first and second full-length works of young directors, Competition 1-2.
This film tells the story of a simple young person living in the Soviet Union in the 1970s, who was committed to a psychiatric hospital due to their love for Western rock music, which was prohibited at that time.
However, the award for the best full-length documentary film went to the directors of the Slovak-Czech-Ukrainian co-production “Photophobia,” directed by Ivan Ostrokhovsky and Pavol Pekarchik.
