Kostiantyn Mrochko is a tank driver who died in the battles for Ukraine in the spring of 2022. The man began his military career back in 2003. Back then, he was serving in the tank troops in the Volodymyr-Volyn Mechanized Brigade. The fighter is from the village of Blahodatne, Volyn.
In April 2014, he was one of the first ones to go defend the country from the enemy in the eastern part of Ukraine. He served in a mechanized brigade he fought through Mariinka and Mariupol in Donetsk region with.
The battle for Debaltseve was one of his outstanding achievements. The tank driver led the columns of the famous tank crew of Mykola Tyshyk (a native of Starovyzhiv district) out of the ring. The defenders managed to lead a column of Ukrainian tanks through a minefield in the village: Kostiantyn and his crew went first, and the others followed. Since then, Kostiantyn became one of Ukraine’s best tank drivers.
With the beginning of russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, he returned from Israel, where he had been working, and joined his native unit as a tank driver to defend Ukrainian soil. The man fought in the Kyiv region, and on March 8, 2022, in the village of Makariv, he was killed in fierce fighting.
His parents were left without a son, his children – without a father, and his wife was left without a husband.
The rosé wine of the 2022 vintage was named Kostia in honor of Kostiantyn Mrochko, who planted the vineyard four years ago. When he was working at the Lion-Adam organic farm, he became friends with the owners. In addition to caring for the vineyard, he helped them with their farming.
“This rosé wine “Kostia” is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend Kostia Mrochko. He planted the vineyards from which this wine was produced. Unfortunately, he was not able to enjoy it. But the memory of his strong hands and tender heart will live on in this wine and its unique refreshing taste”
