Fashion never stands apart from any societal processes. It is the result of various cultural, social, and economic influences. In times when a country is engulfed in war, the Ukrainian fashion industry does not ignore what is happening. The digital magazine “Shushon” is dedicated to the achievements of the Ukrainian fashion industry in the context of war.
In the pilot issue, you will learn more about:
- The Ukrainian fashion industry during a full-scale war.
- The wardrobe of Olena Zelenska: what the first lady wears and whether there are hidden meanings in it.
- Valentyna Sanina-Shlee, a Ukrainian woman who revolutionized the fashion world.
- Fashion artists who, inspired by Ukrainian heritage, dabble in ethnic fashion.
- Brands born during the war.
