10 Ukrainians – 10 stories, each of which touches our hearts. A project that reveals a part of the soul of those who fight and continue to fight for the freedom of Ukraine. This is a project that tells how people’s lives changed after February 24, 2022. As part of this project, interviews were conducted with 10 speakers, where students from the USA, Turkey, and Ukraine asked them questions and discussed important topics.

Hanna Ryasna – holder of the Order of Princess Olga III degree, director of the regional communal institution “Luhansk Regional Center for Support of Youth Initiatives and Social Research”.  Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Anna moved from Lysychansk to Dnipro.  Her husband went to the front, she began to help the residents of her hometown, who remained there, and the displaced.

Said Ismagilov used to be a spiritual leader, Islamic scholar and mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma”. However, after the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, he decided to completely change his life. Now, Said works as a paramedic driver in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and evacuates wounded soldiers from “hot spots” on the front line.

Sumy is a city that was one of the first to face a full-scale invasion and survived despite everything. As part of the international project “10 Ukrainians – 10 stories”, we were lucky enough to talk with Dmytro Tishchenko from Sumy, who until February 24, 2022 was engaged in media management and public activities.

The hero of today’s interview is Borys Cherkas, doctor of historical sciences, professor, leading researcher of the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, researcher of the history of the Black Sea region and the steppe of the Middle Ages. But now, in the conditions of a “hot war”, he is the commander of an infantry company of the Armed Forces.

За даними ВООЗ за 2020 рік, близько 200 мільйонів жінок зазнали насилля у формі жіночого обрізання. Страшно уявити наскільки зросла ця цифра зараз. Гормональні порушення, неможливість завагітніти, проблеми сечовипускання та менструації, психічні розлади, інфекції – це лише малий перелік наслідків, які завдає ця процедура. Проте її продовжують проводити, виправдовуючись релігією, традиціями, користю для здоров’я, що немає нічого спільного з правдою.

The project “Life and War: 10 Ukrainians – 10 Stories” was organized between 4 universities from three countries of the world: Istanbul University, Faculty of Journalism (Istanbul, Turkey), V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University, Institute of Philology and Journalism (Kyiv, Ukraine), California State University Stanislaus (Turlock, California, USA), Oakland Community College Farmington Hills (Michigan, USA).

В Україні триває війна і, відповідно, продовжено термін загальної мобілізації. Наразі її темпи зросли, відмічають військові.

Розмальовувати адміністраційні будівлі окупаційних адміністрацій, здавати координати пересування військ і місцезнаходження російських гауляйтерів, організовувати мітинги і розклеювати агітаційні листівки під носом у окупантів. На такі сміливі кроки ладні піти українці, які знаходяться на тимчасово окупованих територіях і готові зробити все, аби Збройні сили Укаїни якомога скоріше їх звільнили.

Медіа, громадські організації, експерти, спеціально кваліфіковані люди і держава намагаються захистити нас від негативних впливів інформації, але куди краще коли суспільство може самостійно вберегти себе.

Перебуваючи в потужному інформаційному просторі суспільству надзвичайно важливо розуміти що являє собою недостовірна інформація і як її відрізнити від достовірної.

Canada is home to the largest Ukrainian diaspora in the world, which strives to preserve its cultural and national identity. This is made possible by the tireless efforts of Ukrainian and Canadian volunteers. The traditional Ukrainian Easter egg painting series of workshops at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Ottawa is an amazing example of how ordinary people are making positive changes in the community. In this article, I talk about the experience and motivation of the Ukrainian-Canadian community in Ottawa that organized Pysanka Workshops to support Ukrainian culture during the full-scale Russian invasion.
