Consequences of the shelling of a school in Zhytomyr
The morning of February 24, it’s 6:07 a.m. A muffled phone call. I pick up the phone and hear a confused but surprisingly calm voice: «Wake up! Iro! Putin invaded Ukraine! War!».
Never in my life will I forget the feeling of that morning. I’ve already had my things packed, kinda a go-bag, but there were meds and documents only, nothing else. I take my suitcase, open the closet, take a look at my clothes, not knowing what to pack. I decided to pick one clothing per every season. There is no time to think about it much.
There was only one thought in my head: «I don’t have a job anymore, the channel doesn’t broadcast, so, what’s next?». And then these anxious thoughts were interrupted by my sister’s phone call. We understood each other without saying anything, just simply agreed: I’ll come to her house to move to our parents together. Because where else will it be safer, if not at our family’s house?
That time I had no fear. While packing my things, I’ve been calling my friends, bothering their sleep, being a «messenger of bad news».
February 24 was the longest day of my life!
The next day we were sitting together at the dining table with our parents and talking. A lot. That time I kept thinking that one more day and that’s it, the war is over. Today I realise that the war will be here for a longer time! It’s not because I’m disappointed in Ukrainian Armed Forces, Territorial Defence, people, no! My nation can’t be defeated! The only thought is that the value of our lives, the war, has always been profitable to someone. The dictator won’t stop unless the nation decides to rebel!
Nowadays, my routine consists of waking up from the sirens every couple of hours. Every Ukrainian family lost its sleep. However, no matter what, we go to school, a country club, and volunteer with girls together. We do everything for our army, TD. Our resistance to the «peaceful capture» is already seen as the Great Chinese Wall from space!
There is only one type of punishment: severe sanctions, bringing appeals to international tribunals, death penalty! The blood of every Ukrainian is mallows of freedom, that will cover my free, indestructible UKRAINE! To the enemies and those, who don’t believe in it – shall you burn in hell!
