About us
The NGO “PLATFORM OF STUDENT JOURNALISM” is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in March 2021 by teachers and students of the V. I. Vernadsky Taurida National University. It is an organization that unites students, scientists, journalists, lawyers, community activists.
The public organization operates on the basis of involuntariness, equality of its members, self-government, legality, and transparency and is free to choose the directions of its activity. It operates on the basis of free choice, absence of property interest of its members (participants), publicity. It is a non-profit, so its main purpose is not to make money.
The main goal of the Organization is to satisfy and protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members, as well as satisfy public interests in various spheres of public life.
The main areas of activity are:
- protection and development of freedom of speech and thought, adhering to the standards of free and independent media, basic principles of democracy, following social, economic and cultural interests of citizens;
- support of a student media platform for collecting, analyzing and disseminating information;
- recording and publicizing specific cases of violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as publicizing the facts of gender, racial, age or other kinds of discrimination, in particular and not exclusively, in higher education institutions;
- implementation of educational, cultural and awareness-raising activities to promote the establishment of a democratic civil society in Ukraine, raising the legal and civic culture of young people.
Since the NGO is a non-profit organization, the activities of its members are carried out exclusively on a voluntary basis. Projects are implemented on a volunteer basis and / or at the expense of charitable contributions / grants.
