TruthfulReporting

Truthful Reporting is the official website of the NGO “Student Journalism Platform”.

Logo of our media

Our organization was founded by teachers and students of the relocated university. We really want the voice of our students to be heard and used to the fullest.

To support this goal, the website Truthful Reporting was created as a platform where young people can express their views on topics such as:

  • human rights, including within higher education institutions;
  • young people’s perspectives on current events;
  • conversations with professional journalists and civic activists;
  • professional journalism standards and the safety of journalists;
  • history, culture, and international relations;
  • student life;
  • and other issues that matter to Ukrainian youth.

The site also aims to help young Ukrainians to find their place in the world community. We want to give our  young people the opportunity to participate in solving current global problems. The site aims to promote Ukrainian culture and to spread truthful information about Ukraine abroad, which is why all materials are published in Ukrainian and English.

One of the main tasks of our online media is to give students the opportunity to express themselves, thus it’ll help them to start their way in journalism. During their studies they can gain practical experience in writing materials, and at the same time they will develop their portfolio needed for future employment. The organization also helps students of Ukrainian universities with passing introductory, educational practice, practice that has to do with their majors: journalism, philology and related fields.

The main principles of the editorial policy are adherence to standards of truthful reporting: honesty and objectivity, openness and sincerity, etc.

The site was created by students and for students, and in order to develop its concept, we announced an All-Ukrainian competition for the program of activities of our NGO “Student Journalism Platform”. In the contest we had 5 teams take part, they were from three Ukrainian universities. How it all went, who won the main prizes, you can find out all about it here.
