Media in the digital age

The modern world demands constant development and change in society. Although scientific and technological advances are actively implemented in various spheres of life, some of them remain insufficiently researched and understood. This can lead to a decrease in the efficiency of employees and the formation of wrong attitudes of citizens towards authorities or journalists.
The “Media in the Digital age” project aims to explain the concept of ‘digitalisation’ and its key processes, in order to better understand this phenomenon and its impact on society.


The aim of the project: consider the transition of media from classical to digital publications.

Project objectives:

  • Define the concept of digitisation, outline its possibilities, and analyse related concepts;
  • To analyse the chronology of digitisation in the media sector;
  • To consider the process of digitisation through specific examples;
  • Identify the main advantages and disadvantages of digitisation.


Rationale for the project

Modern society actively uses the achievements of digital technologies, especially through various popular media sites and their social networks. However, the transition from traditional to online media has not been noticeable enough for many information consumers. The events of the last decade, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, have significantly accelerated the involvement of Ukrainians in the use of digital media and other online information sources.

This process has been so gradual that many people have not even noticed how newspapers, radio or television have given way to their online versions. In addition, many people have started to create their own websites or social networks that are similar in content to traditional media. This blurred transition can have negative consequences for both the media and society as a whole, as any information influences people’s opinions and behaviour.

Aimed at: young people aged between 15 and 36 and anyone who wants to create their own media or information resource.

Implementation: Use of scientific data and author’s research, preparation of high quality materials for publication and dissemination.
